Request advanced reservation public transit rides in the Blue Water Area

Blue Water Area Transit (BWAT) operates an advanced reservation demand response service, Wave on Demand, that is available throughout Blue Water’s service area. By utilizing Wave Rider - Blue Water, passengers can reserve their own demand response trips and receive trip reminders and vehicle arrival time updates.

HOW IT WORKS:

- Book a reserved ride on your smart phone by inputting your pickup and drop-off addresses and indicate if you will be riding with additional passengers. You may also call BWAT’s friendly dispatch at 810-987-7373 and pick Option 2 to reserve a ride.

- Select the preferred pickup window for when the vehicle will arrive. You are expected to be ready at any time during that pickup window. On the day before your trip, you will receive an automated call or text reminder for each trip you have scheduled.

- When our vehicle is near your location on the day of the trip, we will send you an automated call or text notification.

- When your driver arrives, they will wait up to 3 minutes at your pickup location. If they arrive early, they will wait until the start of your pickup window, and then wait another 5 minutes.

- When you get on board, please pay your fare to the driver. Note that the driver does not have change.

- There may be others on board, and you may make some additional stops before you reach your desired destination. You can track your ride and share your status in real-time from the app.


Space is limited, so book early if you can. If you cannot find a trip that meets your needs on the Wave Rider - Blue Water app, please call our dispatch at 810-987-7373 and choose Option 2 to see if we can help. Not all trips can be scheduled due to capacity limitations.


Our vehicles are wheelchair accessible and are operated by specially trained drivers. Whether you want to run an errand, visit a friend, or need reliable transit to recurring events (work, appointments, etc.), Wave on Demand will get you there!
